Arlene M. Oswald, 94 years, of Germansville, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lehighton. She was the widow of Marvin W. Oswald. Born in Heidelberg Twp. she was the daughter of Stanley and Mary (George) Kerschner.

Arlene was a 1937 graduate of the former Slatington High School. She was the wife of a farmer and worked in various knitting mills in the Slatington area for many years. Arlene was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in New Tripoli.


Survivors: Daughters, Joyce, wife of Milan Simpson, and AnnaLou, wife of Randall Fritzinger both of Germansville, grandchildren, Kurt Fritzinger and wife Kelly of Allentown, Kyle Fritzinger of Charleston, SC, Kristine, wife of Frederick Hutton, III of Mandeville, LA, and Cindy, wife of Jesse Sechler of Germansville, great grandchildren, Abby, Aubree, Mason, Ashlyn, Fritz, Addison, and Owen, step great grandchildren, MaryHall and Frederick, IV, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Ellwood and Clayton Kerschner, a sister, Mildred Krum, and her companion, Nathan Boger.

Services: Graveside service at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 22 at Ebenezer Cemetery, 7293 Decatur St., New Tripoli. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 A.M., in the Fellowship Hall of Ebenezer United Church of Christ. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., New Tripoli.
