Barbara Lynn Schleicher, 62, of Haymarket, VA and Allentown, PA passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2018 following a courageous thirteen year battle with cancer. Born in Reading, PA to Jean H. Lubas of Blandon, PA and the late Walter Lubas, Jr., she is survived by her husband David of Haymarket, VA; three daughters, Karen Jordan, wife of Richard Jordan Sinking Spring, PA, Kristen Gajewski, wife of TJ Gajewski Wyomissing, PA and Janelle Schleicher Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by four precious grandchildren.
During 39 years of marriage, Barbara lived, worked and volunteered in Honesdale, Harrisburg, Clarks Summit and Allentown, PA; Statesville, NC and Haymarket, VA. Barbara was a graduate of Millersville University with a degree in elementary education and worked as a teacher and literacy tutor over many years. She was also an active advocate for animals, volunteering and teaching at Rescue Ranch in Statesville, NC.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield, PA at 11:00 AM on Friday July 20th, 2018. Visitation hours will start at 9:30 AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
