Carl L. Hinkel, 85 years, of Lenhartsville, passed away December 25, 2012 at Laurel Center in Hamburg. He was the husband of Beatrice S. (Heckman) Hinkel for 56 years last October. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Aaron and Estella (Kunsman) (Brotzman) Hinkel.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel for 44 years in the drop forge department. Carl was a farmer all of his life, in the Bethlehem area and then in Lynnport. He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ. Carl honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #945.
Survivors: wife, sons; Glenn and wife Sherry of Germansville, Randy and Melvin both of Kempton, Paul and wife Diane of Gilbertsville, and Carl Jr. at home, four grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Larry.
Services: 10:30 A.M. on December 29 at Ebenezer U.C.C., 7293 Decatur St., New Tripoli, with the Rev. Kevin E. Fruchtl officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Interment, Ebenezer Cemetery. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc. New Tripoli.
