Carol Ann Mertz

Carol Ann Mertz, 85, of Kutztown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Lynn Twp she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Whitman) Zimmerman.

She was a teacher for 30 years and retired from Brandywine High School. Carol was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kutztown. She was also active in the Kutztown Lioness Club and was the Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star 336.

Survivors: Son, Scott R Mertz and wife Leslie of Kutztown, step grandchildren Michelle Fegely and Jeffrey Wagner, step great grandchildren, Owen, Olivia, Haven and Norah.

A visitation will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 21 at Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville with the Funeral service to follow at 10:30 AM. Private Interment. Online condolences may be offered at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com.
