Carson L
Frey
Jun 14, 1942 — Jan 11, 2018
Carson went to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the age of 75. He and his wife Jane (Harpel) celebrated their 55 th wedding anniversary in June of 2017. Carson was born in Germansville to the late Floyd and Helen (Wagaman) Frey. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1959.
Carson worked at Mack Trucks, Inc. for 40 years beginning as a mechanic, specializing in fire trucks. Before retirement he was a service engineer working at headquarters. Prior to Mack he was employed at Strohl's Chevrolet. Carson's passions in life were his family, his motorcycle, and his musical instruments. His love of music and desire to keep the Pennsylvania Dutch dialect alive led him to be involved in the Wieand Folklore group, the Cetronia Minstrel Group, as well as the Grundsow Saukraut Buvas. Most recently he traveled with "Jack and Friends" entertaining with his guitar. He was also very active with Grundsow Lodge #16, serving as Haubtmon for three years. During this time, he was responsible for having a Groundhog service held at Wehr's Dam. Carson was always an active member of his church starting at Ebenezer in his youth, St. John's UCC, Fogelsville, and lastly, New Life Evangelical Lutheran, New Tripoli. He sang on the choirs, taught Sunday school and served on the consistory. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
Jane and family would like to thank the staff at Cornerstone Living and AsceraCare Hospice for all of their kindness and compassion shown toward Carson.
