Charles S. Edwards, 84 years, of Fogelsville, passed away May 28, 2013 at home. He was the husband of Lucy (Sherburne) Edwards for 55 years last June. Born in Hazleton he was a son of the late Robert and Kathryn (Schaar) Edwards.

Charles graduated from Penn State University and Harvard Divinity School. He served as Chaplain for 3 years in the United States Air Force. He then received a Ph.D. from Princeton University and taught Political Science at Baylor University, Waco, TX for 18 years.

Survivors: wife, son, Jonathan C. Edwards of St. Louis, MO, daughters; Kathryn S. Edwards of Concord, MA and Jennifer E. McGlynn of Walnutport, PA, brother, Robert of Pittsburgh, sisters; June Wargo of North Wales, PA, Beverly Zeisloft of West Deptford, NJ, grandchildren Emily, Megan, and Ian McGlynn, and Cody, Garrett, and Lucy O'Sullivan, nieces and nephews.
