Daniel C. Heckman, 87, of Orefield, passed away peacefully at home on June 27. Born in Allentown, PA, on June 6, 1928, he was the husband of Mildred V. (Reinhart) Heckman with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Charles F. and Theodora L. (Dalton) Heckman.
Dan served in the armed forces during World War II, receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal, Japan. After his military service, he worked in radio and television repair and for the former Western Electric for most of his working life, retiring in 1989. Dan was an excellent craftsman. He had a woodworking shop where he made beautiful furniture. Dan loved nature, especially fishing, and his numerous dogs and cats over the years.

Wife, daughters, Cathy A., wife of Paul Ashline, Nancy M., wife of Lee Goldstein, Linda L., wife of Craig Heckman; Grandchildren, Lauren and Jaclyn Ashline, Brian Hacker, Alison Weaver, Jamie and Mitchell Goldstein, Ryan and Erin Heckman; sister, Mary Ann Sparks, wife of Ramon Sparks, of Lake Wales, Florida, and two nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan D. Hacker wife of William Hacker. .
