Donald F. Schmidt

Donald F. Schmidt, 91, of Orefield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Inpatient Hospice Unit in Allentown. He was the widower of Barbara M. (Musser) Schmidt. Born in Orefield, he was the son of the late William and Esther (Stauffer) Schmidt.

He was an engineer at the Eaton Corp. for 42 years and drove for Heist Chauffer Service for 15 years after retiring. Don was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church in Orefield and honorably served in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years. Don loved his jazz, hunting and was a total aviation “nut”, spending a lot of time at the Golden Age Air Museum, Grimes Airport with his buddies.

Survivors: children, Lisa Williams (Tom) of Allentown and William Schmidt of Orefield, his grandson, Reagan and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A Graveside Service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, August 15, at Jordan Lutheran Church Cemetery, 5103 Snowdrift Rd, Orefield. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com.
