Obituary

Floyd S. Kistler, 89 years, of New Tripoli, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at home.  He and his wife, Lila M. (Kamp) Kistler, who passed away on December 18, were married for 66 years this past June.  Born in Kempton, he was the son of the late Phaon and Mabel (Sechler) Kistler.

He was a dispatcher for Consolidated Freight for 25 years as well as a farmer his whole life in Lynn Twp.  Floyd was very active in the Weisenberg/Lowhill Township Historical Society.   He was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregation of the Jerusalem Red Church in Kempton, where he was also in charge of the cemetery for 60 years. Floyd built floats for 25 years for various local parades as well as the Mummer's Day Parade. For years he grew dahlia flower bulbs as well as gladiolus.

Survivors: daughter, Linda, wife of Guy Bieber of Macungie, son, Larry and wife Susan of Kempton, grandchildren, Adam Bieber, Alyssa Wessner, Katie Hafer, and Wyatt Kistler, great grandchildren, Liam Hafer and Monet Becker, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Kistler and sisters, Evelyn DeWitt and Ruth Hertzog.

Services: 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 4, at the Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Bill Albright officiating. Visitation, will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
