Obituary

George K. Burkos, 85 years, of Orefield, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Mohr) Burkos for 53 years this past April. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Horepsimo Burkos.

He was an electrician in the Lehigh Valley for 32 years as well as a General Contractor, with his brother James. George owned numerous apartment buildings in the area. He honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Army in Germany during WWII. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem. For 30 years George traveled around the United States as a Depression Glass Specialist.

Survivors: wife, sons; John G. and wife Tina of Trexlertown, Michael G. of Orefield, brother, James and wife Cleo of Allentown, grandchildren, Marcy and Brielle Burkos. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Pellas.

Services: 11 A.M. Saturday, July 6, at Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Private interment. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com
