Henry W. Rockel, 87 years, of Coopersburg, formerly of Fogelsville, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at home. Henry and his wife Betty A. (Hunsicker) Rockel celebrated 65 years of marriage last month. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Reba (Miller) Rockel.
He worked in his family's business, the former Harry W. Rockel Garage, from 1947 to 2007. Henry was a life member of the Fogelsville Fire Co. having served as the Assistant Chief and a Trustee. He honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Henry was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fogelsville where he served on the consistory for many years. He was a Free and Accepted Mason, and a 32nd degree member of the Lehigh Consistory.
Survivors:
Daughter, Debra A. wife of James Hoffman of Northampton, son, William H. and wife Mary of Center Valley, sister, Ruth Ann Leiby, grandchildren; Steven, Emily, Kelly, Caitlyn, and Alan, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth Wagner.
