Homer S. Heilman, 94 years, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit in Allentown. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Gerhard) Heilman for 73 years last May. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Oscar J. and Blanche (Mohr) Heilman.
Homer graduated from Muhlenberg College and went on to receive his Master's Degree from Lehigh University. He was the General Manager of Eastern Industries Concrete Division for 20 years. Prior to that, Homer owned Heilman's Market in Fogelsville from 1947-1953. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fogelsville, where he was past President of the Consistory. Homer was a member of the Parkway Manor Lions Club. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Homer loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors:
wife, daughters; Barbara E. wife of Enrico Gava of Allentown, Kathryn M. wife of Stanley Stauffer of Macungie, and Jane A. wife of Bernard Corriveau of Allentown, grandchildren; Andrea, Susan, Elizabeth, and Timothy, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Deborah.
Memorial Service
: 11 A.M., Monday, March 28, at St. John's U.C.C., 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Irvin Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
