Izola (Green) Thomas, 69 years of Allentown, formerly of New Orleans, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017.   She was the widow of Melvin Thomas, Sr.  Born in New Orleans, she was a daughter of the late Freddie and Estelle Green. Izola was a certified nursing assistant in New Orleans and retired after 20 years of service.  In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, along with several members of her family, she relocated to Allentown.  Izola was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren .

Survivors: Daughters, Laura, Lynnette, and Wanette Thomas; son, Rev. Melvin Thomas Jr. and his wife Joan Thomas, step son, Terrence Joseph, god daughter, Jocole Rogers, former daughter in law, Amy Keller Thomas, grandchildren, Alexuss, Mel, Kentricca, Diamante, Calnisha, Kobe, Lauren, Tatiyana, Jacklyn, Savannae, and Nathaniel Thomas, Francesca and Gabrielle Rhoads; great granddaughters, Amoni and Ivelisse, many nieces and nephews.

Services: A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 15 at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, 410 West Union St., Allentown with Pastor Thomas E.
