Obituary

Jean E. George, 84, of Fogelsville, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of the Rev. Robert L. George. Born in Schuylkill Haven, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Carrie (Fidler) Moyer and raised by the late James and Lottie (Fidler) Reber.

She was an executive secretary for Price Battery in Hamburg, then secretary for St. John's Lutheran Church in Fogelsville where she was also a member. Later, Jean became a school bus driver and instructor for Northwestern Lehigh School District for over 30 years until retiring in 2011. After retiring, she volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels.  Throughout her life, she was very giving to several charities and organizations.

Jean enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the yard, traveling, golfing, and anything that could be done outside as evidenced by her great tan every summer.  She was an ice skater and skier in her younger years, loved playing cards, and always looked for the next adventure.  Jean was fiercely independent and rarely asked for help but would do anything for her family and friends.  Jean had a great sense of humor and was happiest being with her family and friends.  She hosted many parties and poolside picnics and could often be found with a Manhattan in her hand. Jean had an outgoing personality and made friends everywhere she went, whether it was at the grocery store or on her many travels.  She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Survivors: children, Sara Latham and John George (Lori) both of New Tripoli, grandchildren Benjamin and Nathanial Latham and Hailey and Avery George (Trevor German), great grandchildren, Walker and Wilder German.
