John Samus, 93 years, of Fogelsville, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp.  He was the widower of Helen M. (Sabol) Samus.  Born in Mahanoy City, he was the son of the late Wassel and Sophie (Mazur) Samus.

He was a mail carrier in New Jersey for 22 years.  John was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield.  He honorably served in the United States Army during WWII, where he was part of the first wave of the invasion of Normandy.

Survivors : daughters, Ann Marie Quinlan and husband Michael of Kutztown and Teresa Kleiza and husband Vidas of Stewartsville, NJ, sister, Mildred DiRomualdo of Macungie, grandchildren, Nina, Derrick, Mindy, and Brian; great grandchildren, Colton and Evan. He was predeceased by a son, John.

Services : Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 21 at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1879 Applewood Rd., Orefield.
