Obituary

Kenneth K. Schellhamer, 78 years, of New Tripoli, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit.  He was the husband of Sherrie A. (Stengel) Schellhamer for 25 years this past February.  Born in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late Kermit E. and Catherine E. (Rabert) Schellhamer.

He was a truck driver for ABF Freight in Allentown for more than 30 years until he retired.  Kenny was the former Fire Chief of the New Tripoli Fire Co. for 11 years.  He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics and the Knights of the Golden Eagles.  Kenny was an avid hunter and sportsmen.  He also loved going fishing on his boat with the family.  He just loved being part of the outdoors.  Kenny loved spending time with his loving wife, Sherrie, whether it was going to bingo or out for a bite to eat.  She was his best friend.  A couple of his favorite sayings were: "Life is too short to argue" and "How's the Little Guy doing" He also loved his cat, Bella, who was such a great companion for him.  Kenny fought a long battle and was very courageous.  He is at peace now and will surely be missed.

Survivors: wife, Sherrie, daughters, Tiffany Dieter and husband Adam of Germansville, and Gail Horning and husband Daryl of New Tripoli, sons, Todd and wife Cindy, Eric and wife Michelle, and Glen and wife Karen, all of New Tripoli, sisters, Marilyn Smith and companion Stanley Kresge, and Mary Jane Klenk and husband Herman, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services: At his request there will be no viewing or services.  His desire was to leave the earth quietly and without ceremony or testament.  Those wishing to acknowledge him are requested to do so through personal prayer and reflection or by doing a good deed for someone in need.  Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc.
