Obituary

Kent Chattin, 85, of New Tripoli, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017.  Born on January 9, 1932 in Morristown, New Jersey, Kent was the son of the late Laurie and Catherine (Cuthbertson) Chattin.

Kent and his family moved to Weisenberg Township in 1945, and he graduated from Parkland High School in 1951.  Kent and his twin brother Bruce helped to manage the sizable family farm which operated as a large dairy operation for many years.  The farm also produced a variety of crops, and raised many livestock including goats and sheep.  The farm continues to be the hub of many family activities including 72 consecutive years of family reunions.  Kent loved the outdoors, had a passion for gardening, was very skilled at building rock walls and Koi ponds, was an avid hunter, loved to cook and enjoyed watching professional sports (especially New York Yankees baseball and Philadelphia Eagles football).
