Obituary

LaMar J. Madtes, 82 years, of New Tripoli, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Old Forge, NY.  He was the husband of Gloria (Bleiler) Madtes for 39 years last July.  Born in Lynn Twp, he was the son of the late Clayton H. and M. Evelyn (Snyder) Madtes.

He was a mechanic in the Engineering Development and Test Center at Mack Trucks for 30 years.  LaMar was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church.  He was also a member of the Ontelaunee Car club and enjoyed restoring and collecting cars.  LaMar was also an avid snowmobiler.

Survivors: Wife, Gloria, sons, Jeff Madtes (Rhonda) of Old Forge, NY and Kevin Madtes (Mia) of Schnecksville; stepdaughter, Mary K. Adams (Jason) of San Antonio, TX, brother, Willard E. Madtes of Tennessee, sister, Marian H. Johnson of Orefield, grandchildren, Skyler, Ryan, and Henry Madtes, and Lilly and Nathan Adams; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers Paul and Carl.

Services: A Viewing will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 13 at Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St, Fogelsville.  11:30 AM Graveside Service at Bethany United Methodist Cemetery, Wescosville.  Please note state guidelines will be followed limiting the number of people allowed inside the building.  Face masks will be required.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com .
