Lauretta J. (Fister) Ruch, 100 years young, of Fogelsville, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown. She was the widow of Edgar C. Ruch. Born in Weisenberg Twp. she was a daughter of the late Alton G. and Alice M. (Frantz) Fister.
She worked in the kitchen for the former Ambassador Restaurant in Allentown, for many years, retiring at the age of 85. Prior to that, she worked as a waitress at the former Shankweiler's Hotel in Fogelsville for many years until their closing. Lauretta was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fogelsville, where she was actively involved. Lauretta sang on the choir and helped at the annual Chicken and Waffle dinner. She loved her family and her church. Also, she enjoyed yard work and reading. She was a wonderful grandmother, and leaves behind an abundance of happy memories. But nothing put a smile on her face bigger than the one she'd display when holding her great grandchildren, Vivienne, Luke and Kelly.
Survivors: son, David E. Ruch of Neptune, NJ, daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Gehringer and Peggy L. Kriebel, both of Fogelsville, grandson, Joseph Kreibel of Trexlertown, granddaughters, Shelby Falco and husband Joe of Howell, NJ, and Jaclyn Ruch of Ocean, NJ; great grandchildren, Vivian, Luke and Kelly. She was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Alton, and Raymond Fister and sisters Annabelle Quigney and Erla Lovett.
Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 23 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Nelson Quiñones officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment, Fogelsville Union Cemetery. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc, Fogelsville.
