Mae V. Dorney, 89 years, of Breinigsville formerly of Fogelsville, passed away on Saturday, September 7, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit in Allentown. She was the widow of George F. Dorney to whom she would have been married 67 years on September 14. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Heiser) Layton.
She was a waitress and hostess at the former Village Inn in Allentown for 23 years and also helped with the family's lawn service business. Mae was Past-President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fogelsville Fire Co. and a very active member for 35 years. She loved Bingo, her Bingo friends, Game Nights and her family, especially her granddaughters. Mae was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fogelsville.
Survivors: Daughters, Debbie Tuttle of Breinigsville and April wife of Steve Zehr of Fogelsville; Brother, Charles Layton, Jr. and his wife Doris of Cetronia; Sisters, Ruth Shirock of Colorado Springs, CO and Betty wife of Gus Sinkbile of Allentown; Granddaughters, Dina Billowitch and partner Charlotte Boles of Sinking Springs and Lacey Kuhns and fiancé Yohannes Teklegiorgis of Philadelphia. She was predeceased by brothers, Richard and Robert.
Services: 11:00 A.M.., Friday, September 13, at Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., 1018 Church Street, Fogelsville with The Rev. Anne Huey officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Private Interment.
