Obituary

Marian L. Hagopian, 100, formerly of Lower Macungie Twp., passed away early Monday, April 17, 2023 at Heather Glen Senior Living, Allentown. She was the widow of Edward Hagopian.

Born in Oakland, CA, she was the daughter of the late George Nelson and Lela (McCory) Lynch.

She honorably served as Seaman First Class with the US Navy during World War II from 1943-1946 in a military unit known as the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service).

Marian was active throughout her 100 years as she lived in California, Michigan, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. She was an avid reader and gardener. She taught Sunday school, volunteered in hospitals, founded Paradise Genealogy Library and was a member of the Mayflower Society and DAR. Her family benefited from her talent with textiles, including upholstery and hooking rugs. She was much loved by family and friends.

Surviving is her daughter: Ellen Held (Tom) of Allentown; four grandchildren: Matthew (Ewa), Edward (Michelle), Brian (Angelina) and Holly; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald M. Hagopian; and siblings: Franklin, Vernon, Margaret Pryor, Lucille Harrell and half-brothers, Orlin Raymond, Edmund Lynch and George "Bud" Lynch.
