Obituary

Marjorie Ann (Young) Wenhold, 79, passed away peacefully in her home on December 18, 2020.   By her side in life, and at the time of her death, was her best friend, and husband of 61 years, Robert.   She was surrounded by love from her children:  Robin (Michael), Denise (Michael) and Christopher.  She is survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren known to them as "Mom Mom"; Alexandra (Michael), Hanna, Rebekah, Chad (Vanessa) and son Jayce, Jackie (Harry) and son Paxton, Marissa, Emilee and Ashlee. She is also survived by her brother Fred (Willa) of California.

We are comforted to know that her mother Marge (Salem), father Clarence (Bud) Young, and brothers Jackie and Bruce and many other departed family and friends were at the heavenly gates waiting to welcome Marge to her new place of peace and comfort.

She was born June 28, 1941 in Philadelphia, moved to the Perkasie area where she grew up and later graduated  from Pennridge High School.  Soon after graduating she married her sweetheart Robert (Bob) October 24, 1959. and moved to Sellersville.  Together, after some years, they migrated up to New Tripoli to experience living on a farm where Marge spent many happy memories gardening, cooking, canning, sewing and entertaining family and friends.  She could always be found in the kitchen whipping up a delicious meal or baking one of her award -winning apple pies or zucchini bread!  You could stop by any summer evening for dinner and expect to see a plate full of tomatoes, freshly picked corn and summer vegetables from the garden strewn across the dinner table.    Marge was one for delicious homemade desserts and could entertain any sweet tooth with her freshly baked cookies, brownies, pies, and chocolate cake.

Supporting her family was a big part of her 79 years.  Marge rarely missed an event that her children or grandchildren were involved in.  You could find her at many of their sporting events, football games, singing concerts, sport tournaments, and theater productions. She was and will always be the most faithful cheerleader to her grandchildren on the sidelines.  Over the last few years her health began to deteriorate, but her faith in God and her love of her family grew stronger.

Marge was a member of the Eastern Star for many years.  She taught Sunday school at Ebenezer Church in New Tripoli and supported her children's school, Northwestern Lehigh by volunteering for many events.   After raising her three children, Marjorie decided to go back to work. She was a lab technician for 13 years at Kraft Foods before retiring in 1997 to help watch her grandchildren.  Marge was an excellent seamstress and created many Halloween costumes, prom dresses, wedding dresses, and other outfits for her family over the years.  In 2007, Marjorie and Bob moved to Hiram, Georgia.  Then in March of 2020, Marjorie and Bob moved back to Pennsylvania and enjoyed living the rest of her days in Macungie.

Marge's love for family will never be forgotten.  She was our Matriarch! We are forever blessed - for her listening ear, caring manner, laugh while making faces at you and her unselfish way of giving everything for her family.  For those who knew Marge, their lives will be changed forever. Marge's family is honored and grateful to continue her legacy of devotion to God and family as she continues her journey.

We will be holding a celebration of life in the spring of 2021 to honor Marge.  Details will follow.  Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc.
