Obituary

Michael Bruce Campanelli passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024 after a valiant 3 month fight against Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis. He was surrounded by his wife and friends. Mike was 70 years old, born on April 4, 1954 to the late Nicholas A. and Clarice L. (Senecal) Campanelli.

Mike grew up pretty much 'on the water' in Short Beach, Connecticut; swimming, boating, raiding lobster pots, clamming, catching frogs and riding his bicycle or motorbike. He made great forever friends and memories during his teens and early 20's living in San Diego CA. during the 70's. Lots more motorcycle riding, horseback riding, racketball, archery, camping trips in the Ansa Borego Desert and Yosemite, hiking & fishing in the Minarets and cross-country skiing. After schooling for the woodworking trades, he and his wife, Susan (Strohl) Campanelli moved to Kutztown, PA where they owned and operated a kitchen cabinet and custom furniture shop for 42 years. Mike became an avid whitewater canoeist and he and Susan enjoyed the trip of a lifetime canoeing the Grand Canyon for 2 weeks to celebrate the couples 25th anniversary. After 4 back operations, Mike retired from woodworking in 2020 and lived to fish! Once more his love of the water had him out on his favorite rivers catch & release fly fishing almost daily for the past 5 years.

Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years and his favorite (and only) sister, Nancy Walston, and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Mansfield.

There will be a private celebration of life.
