Obituary

Mildred V. Heckman, 89, formerly of Orefield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Luther Crest in Allentown.  Born in Allentown, on October 25, 1933, she was the widow of Daniel C. Heckman with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.  She was a daughter of the late Harvey C. and Mazie E. Reinhart Koch.

Mildred was employed by Bell Telephone as a telephone operator prior to marriage.  During her life as a homemaker, Mildred was an excellent seamstress.  She had many faithful patrons and was employed by the former Zollinger's Department Store in their bridal department.  She then became involved with various interior decorators and was well known for her beautiful window treatments.  She loved to cross stitch and was an excellent cook and baker.

Survivors: Daughters, Cathy A., wife of Paul Ashline, Nancy M., wife of Lee Goldstein, Linda L., wife of Craig Heckman; grandchildren, Lauren, wife of Nicholas Perri, Jaclyn, wife of Michael Marrkand, Brian Hacker and wife Kelsey Wiggin, Alison, wife of Jacob Weaver, Jamie, wife of Philip Bortz, Mitchell Goldstein, and Ryan and Erin Heckman; 4 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan D. Hacker wife of William Hacker and a sister Dolores Mohry.
