Obituary

Myron "Tunner" Hanselman passed from this life on Wednesday July 11, 2018, surrounded by his family at Whitehall Manor, Allentown, PA. He formerly resided in Centre Hall.  He was the husband of Doris (Young) Hanselman whom he was married to for 65 years. Born in Wolfe's Store, PA he was the son of the late Irwin Blaine and Nora (Bowersox) Hanselman.  He was a 1952 graduate of East Penns Valley High School. He enlisted in 1951 in the PA Air National Guard. Myron was called for active duty with the United States Air Force and was assigned to Grenier Air Force Base in New Hampshire and then onto Brookfield Air Force Base in Brookfield, OH during the Korean War.  Returning from there he reported to the 112th PA Air National Guard in State College. In October of 1961, he was recalled for active duty for assignment in Germany due to the Berlin Crisis. Upon returning he proudly served with the 112th Air Control Squadron until retiring after 42 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant. He received the Air Reserve Meritorious Service Medal with Eight Oak Clusters, along with the Air Force Longevity Service Award and many medals too numerous to mention.

Survivors: In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Cathy D., Berkheiser, Robert, a son Jeffrey E. Hanselman, Jeffrey White, grandchildren, Tasha Bottorf Heffner, Pierce, Matthew W. Bottorf, and two great grandchildren, Andrew (AJ) Kent, and Zachary Kent all of Allentown, PA.  He had one brother that preceded him in death John Hanselman. Tunner said many times he had three special friends who he thought of as brothers, Richard Weber, Robert Culp and David Selfe.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 21st at the Miles Township Fire Company, 102 Broad St., Rebersburg, PA. Calling hours are from 10 to 11 AM with the Service to follow.  Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville, PA. Online condolences may be offered at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com .
