Patricia Ann Smith

Patricia Ann Smith, 90, formerly of New Tripoli, Macungie and Luther Crest in Allentown, passed away on September 19th. She was the widow of David R. Smith. Born in Kutztown, she was the daughter of the late David M. Adam, Sr. and Beulah M. (Geiger) Adam, and stepmother, Catherine Adam.

She graduated from Perry Township High School, and Reading Business Institute. She was a secretary for Community General Hospital in Reading from 1955-1957 and Northwestern Lehigh School District from 1959-1996. Pat was a member of Ebenezer Church in New Tripoli, where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a member of the former Slatington Chapter No.458 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her brother-in-law Daniel A. Smith (Jan) of Shoemakersville; sister-in-law Margaret L. Adam of Fishersville, VA; niece Suzanne (Ron) VanValkenburg of Waynesboro, VA; nephew Kyle Adam of Ackworth, GA; and cousins including Rev. MaryAnn Hamm (Al) of Macungie, PA, who will officiate her Celebration of Life Service. She was predeceased by her brother, David M. Adam, Jr. Special thanks to Sharon Steitz, LPN who was her caregiver in these final months.

Pat had a love and compassion for animals. She had many pet Schnauzers and homeless cats over the years. She and David loved spending the winter months in Cape Coral Florida.
