Obituary

Pauline M. "Polly" Shellhammer, 85 years of Allentown, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp, with her family by her side.  She was the widow of William Groller and Harold E. Shellhammer, the love of her life for 29 years, who passed away April 11, 2008.   Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Rachel R. (Keshel) Keppel.

She was a supervisor in the Housekeeping Dept. at the former Holiday Inn in Allentown for many years.  Polly was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church in Orefield, where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years and helped with Vacation Bible School.  She was also active in the Altar Guild, the Women's Connection, helped with the reenactment of the "Last Supper", and ran the Food Bank Pantry for many years.  She enjoyed baking, crocheting, and playing bingo.  Polly was a dedicated Phillies fan and loved to play at the casinos.  Also, she loved socializing with family and friends at the holidays, picnics and Church functions. She cared dearly for her family and Church.  Her love and dedication to them were of utmost importance.

Survivors: Daughters, Donna Groller of VA, Paulette wife of Keith Adams of Orefield, Carolyn wife of Greg Mikols of Germansville; Sons, William Goller and wife Vicky of Myrtle Beach, SC; Charles Groller and wife Michelle of Germansville; Step-daughters, Kay Smith of Dolan Springs, AZ, Elaine wife of Lyle Moore of Kalispell, Montana, Audrey wife of Lewis Reynolds of Theresa, NY; Step-son, Brian Shellhammer and his wife Emma of Kempton; sister, Caroline Tress of Henrietta, NY; 14 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren; Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Marie Keppel at age 10.

Services : 11:30 AM, Saturday, May 3, at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Rd., Orefield, with the Rev. Jimmy Lee Werley and the Rev. Donald W. Hayn officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11:15 AM in the Church.  Private Interment.  Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville.
