Richard V.C. Carr, 68 years, of Allentown, passed away Saturday July 18, 2015 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Youngstown, OH he was the son of the late Dr. Robert V.C. and Grace (McLaughlin) Carr.

He graduated from Case Western Reserve University and went on to receive his PhD from the University of Chicago. He was a Research Chemist at Air Products until he retired in 2009 and was a member of the American Chemist Society. Richard had many interests, from lighthouses and Civil War history to hot pepper cultivation and crossword puzzles. He was an avid traveler and especially loved riding trains.

Survivors : Daughter, Daphne G.A. Carr of Brooklyn, NY, sisters; Laura Korn and husband Bryant of Houston, TX and Sherry Carr of Glenside, PA, nephew, Jason Carr.

Memorial Service: 11 A.M. Saturday, July 25 at Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 A.M. Private Interment. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com.
