Richard "Dick" J. Lloyd, 87 years, of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Maureen (McCormack) Lloyd and the widower of Martina "Tina" A. (Penny) Lloyd. Born in Philadelphia, he was the youngest of 8 children of the late Howard M.J. and Helen (McTaggart) Lloyd.
A traditional Catholic, Dick was one of the co-founders of two apostolates, the National Coalition of Clergy and Laity and Marian Restoration. Both groups work to see that the teachings of the Catholic Church are known by as many people as possible. Dick wrote much about the topic of perfection. In his writings and discussions he stressed that a devout practice of Catholicism should, through the grace of Our Lord Christ, lead one to perfection. In his last years, he worked with Marian Restoration to prevent abuses against the Blessed Sacrament. Dick considered this the most important work Our Lord gave him the grace to do.
