Robert D.
Miller
Apr 6, 1942 — Jan 1, 2023
Robert D. Miller, 80 years, of Montrose, formerly of Coplay, passed away on January 1st, 2023. Born in Orefield, he was the son of the late Franklin and Leona (Schumaker) Miller.
Bob was a long-time teacher, retiring from the Parkland School District after 32 years, with 5 previous years spent at Pine Point Junior High in Camden. In addition to teaching, he was a Track and Field coach for over a decade where he was often spotted running alongside his athletes on even the coldest of days. He also assisted in coaching other sports teams throughout his teaching years. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman, and conservationist, enjoying any time spent outdoors. He also took time to give back to the community through work with Jordan Lutheran Church and Lehigh Valley organizations like the Lions Club. In his last years living in Montrose, Bob grew a large crop of potatoes each year on his property. When harvest time came, he had the local Boy scout troop come dig them up and donate them to the local foodbank.
