Robert E. "Taid" Jones, 82 years, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Fellowship Manor in Whitehall.  He was the widower of Eileen (Moran) Jones.  Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Thomas and Kathryn (Williams) Jones.

He graduated from Kutztown University in 1962with a Bachelor's in Education and  Lehigh University in 1967 with a Master's in Education and his Superintendent Certification. Robert taught Social Studies at Raub Elementary School in Allentown, where he was also the Baseball Coach for 20 years.  After that he went to Nazareth Middle School where he was the Vice Principal and Principal for 20 years.  Robert was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church in Orefield.  Robert honorably served his country in the United States Army.  He was a devoted Philadelphia Phillies fan, had a great love of cars, and enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities.

Survivors: daughter, Valerie Berdahl wife of Jeff of Allentown, son, Robert and fiancé Beth Petersen, grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Thomas Berdahl, Jordan, Olivia, Eleanor, and William Jones.

Services : A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Rd., Orefield.  There will be no calling hours prior to the service.  Private Interment.  Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com
