Robert F.
Van Duzer, Jr.
Jun 20, 1940 — Dec 21, 2017
Robert F. "Bob" Van Duzer, Jr. passed away on December 21st, 2017, after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He was the husband of Mary Alice (Quigney) Van Duzer for 48 years this past August. Born in Summit, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert F. Van Duzer, Sr. and Edith S. (Walters) Van Duzer. A long-time resident of Allentown, Bob was originally from Madison, NJ where he was valedictorian of the Madison High School Class of 1958. He was a member of the Princeton University Class of 1962 and a graduate of Florida State University in 1965. After serving in the Marine Corps, Bob moved to New York City where he joined the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse and Company. He subsequently moved to Miami and joined Coulter Electronics in Hialeah, FL, as the General Accounting Manager before joining Burger King Corporation as the Director of Internal Auditing. In 1975, Bob and his wife, Mary Alice Quigney, decided to move to Mary's hometown of Allentown to "put down roots" and start a family. During a 35-year career as a fast-food franchisee, Bob opened a video store business and became a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Valuation Analyst, and at 65 he received a Juris Doctorate from Widener School of Law. Bob worked as a paralegal until the end of his life. Until Parkinson's Disease limited his mobility, Bob enjoyed playing tennis year-round with his longtime friend and business associate, Bob Rust. He will be fondly remembered and missed deeply.
