Ronald R. Bittner, 71 years, of Whitehall, formerly of New Tripoli, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at home. Born in Pleasant Corners, he was the son of the late Russell and Violet (Wiesner) Bittner.

Ron was a 1963 graduate of Rider College, located in Trenton, NJ at the time,with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. He was a manager and buyer for Hess's Dept. Store for many years. Ron also worked for Dun & Bradstreet in Bethlehem. He was a member of Heidelberg Lutheran Church in Slatington and a member of the Grundsow Lodge in Kutztown. Ron was a member of the 1959 Coplay Legion State Championship team and went on to play baseball for Rider College.

Survivors: son, James R. and wife Diane of Bernville, daughter, Jennifer R. wife of Atty. Angelo Almonti of Fogelsville, grandchildren; Lauren, Rebecca and Danielle Bittner and Siena Almonti, companion, Carol P. Billingham of Pottstown, 1 niece, 1 nephew, and his beloved cat Otis. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Samantha J. and a sister, Gloria Kehnel.

Memorial Service: 11 A.M., Monday, August 20, at Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville with the Rev. David L. Hess officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4 to 6 P.M. Private interment in Heidelberg Union Cemetery.
