Sherrye L Sefcik, 84, of Emmaus, passed away Tuesday September 8, 2026, at Fellowship Manor in Whitehall. She was the daughter of the late Mathilde Stravino. She is predeceased by her sister Patricia Bolton.

Sherrye was a graduate of The Allentown School of Nursing and Moravian College. She enjoyed her nursing career and held a variety of roles throughout her 50 plus year career including staff nurse, supervisor, nursing instructor, flight nurse and nurse consultant.

Sherrye enjoyed traveling not only as a nurse but also with her dear friends. One of her favorite places was Aruba as well as their annual trips to New York City.

Most important to Sherrye were her two sons Jeff Madtes (Rhonda) of Old Forge, NY and Kevin Madtes (Mia) of Schnecksville, and her 5 grandchildren Skyler, Ryan, Henry, Harper and Grey. She enjoyed her retirement years spending time with them as often as possible.

Survivors include her children and grandchildren as listed above, brother Vincent Stravino, (Evie), brother-in-law, Robert Bolton (Patricia) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
