Shirley Louise Snyder, 85 years of New Tripoli, PA passed away the morning of June 24, 2021 at Kutztown Manor.  Shirley, a lifelong resident of Weisenberg Twp, was born on August 3, 1935 to Clayton Daniel and Lillie Mae (Herber) Rex.  Shirley married Ernest Peter Snyder, son of Peter Owen and Verna E (Bittner) Snyder, on July 16, 1955 in Fogelsville.

Shirley was a housekeeper working in the Lehigh Valley for 30 years before retirement. She was a faithful member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church in New Tripoli, where she was active within the Women's Association. Shirley was an avid gardener of vegetables and flowers but especially loved her pansies. She loved spending her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: Her son, Bruce (Kelly) Snyder of New Tripoli; 2 grandchildren, Ashley (Ben) Collins of Allentown and Amanda (Leonard) Salines of Danielsville; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother-in-law, Arlan (Anna Mae Lichtenwalner) Snyder of Alburtis; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; her sisters, Mildred Lillian (Raymond Kermit) Kressley, Irma LaRue (Ralph Walter) Zettlemoyer; 1 brother-in-law, Kermit Raymond Snyder; 1 sister-in-law, Geraldine Verna (Clayton) Kerschner.

Services: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 29 at Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Rd., New Tripoli, with Rev. Jerel Gade officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Church.
