Theodore (Ted) R. Fritzinger, 93, of Allentown, passed peacefully on April 14, 2016 in his Arizona home. Born October 17, 1922, he was a son of the late Effie L. Doll and George W. Fritzinger. Ted was a loving husband to Jean Neff for 45 years until her passing, and thereafter companion to Elinor Szabo for 15 years until her passing.
He was a graduate of Allentown High School (1940) and Cornell University (1948) and served in the United States Army. In 1948 he founded Plantique, a successful company to this day. His many accomplishments included serving on the Boards of LARC (now VIA), Nurseryman's Association (now PLNA), State Board of Landscape Architects, Allentown Music Festival, Wildlands Conservancy, Lehigh Valley Audubon, West Allentown Kiwanis, and Lehigh County MHMR. He also was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ. Ted enjoyed golfing, birding, wildlife photography, and spending time in his second home in Southwest Arizona.
Survivors
: Son Bruce and wife Pilar; daughters Carol, wife of Dirk Pratley, and Jan; daughter-in-law Lucille; grandchildren Maria, wife of Laith Elias, Alan Fritzinger, Willa Pratley, and Zion Fritzinger; great-grandchildren Bilal and Tamer; and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Glenn, and siblings.
