Walter J. Steinmacher, 87 years, of Orefield, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. He was the husband of Geraldine (LoPresti) Steinmacher for 66 years, last June. Born in Hungary, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Altmann) Steinmacher. He worked for the former Schaefer and Stroh's breweries. Walter was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield. Survivors:  wife, Geraldine, children, John Steinmacher (Marianne) of Orefield and Joanne Nelson (Michael) of Wimauma, FL; grandchildren, Thomas Steinmacher (Doreen) and Joseph Steinmacher (Michelle); great grandchildren, Miriam and Philip; sister, Mary Anne McLaughlin. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM, March 23 at St. Joseph The Worker Church, 1879 Applewood Dr., Orefield. Visitation, from 10:30 to 11 in the Church.  Interment, Resurrection Cemetery.  Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., Fogelsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church.
